About Easter’s Aid TVET School

Esther's Aid is a non-profit organization, whose New York office is completely run by volunteers.

During a site visit to Rwanda in 2000, the founder, Clare Effiong was stunned by the devastation and incredible suffering endured by small children on the street, and dumpsters struggling for survival. The children were without parents, shelter, with little clothing, poorly nourished, and in ill health. This was a direct result of the 1994 genocide, which made them orphans and plunged them into untold hardship, neglect, abandonment, hunger and abuse. This burden led Clare to extend the organizations efforts from New York to Rwanda; in the hopes of alleviating some of the travesties she witnessed and to eventually protect the children from health hazards such as HIV/AIDS, drug addiction, malnutrition, sexual exploitation, cheap child labor and prostitution.

Mission:
Our purpose is to create the best possible institutional setting that instills love, care, moral values, excellence, culture, high academics, confidence and character in the lives of the vulnerable youth, women and people with disabilities (PWD). The ultimate target is to become market responsive and relevant in Rwanda, and indeed, Africa’s private sector where the gap for skilled and competent graduates is still significantly high. Lifting students out of poverty to productive and dignified lives. We believe this can only be achieved by joint partnership with beneficiaries –trainers, key actors, communities, and associate agencies.

Vision:
To invest in the youth by creating an environment which values individuality and team work to produce self-reliant adults. To encourage peace among all ethnic groups.
