The Campus is located in Tumbe in Msambweni Division (currently Msambweni Sub-County), which was an Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) for Tuberculosis and Leprosy diseases.Year of Establishment: 1977Inception and Growth:Kwale Campus was formerly known as Matuga Medical Training College. It was established following the growing need to train Public Health Officers (PHOs). In 1998, the Campus was allocated land through the District Development Plot Allocation Committee.Kwale Campus was given autonomy in 2015 effectively, separating it from KMTC Masmbweni.
