The institution was established in 1963 by the British Colonial government as a Staff Training College.Apart from the main campus,the college has other campuses namely;-Burma campus -Ndola campus
The institution plays a major role in provision of both professional development programmes and academic programmes to both the Civil Service and the private sector.
