    Course entry requirements
    (i) Level 100

    Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE):
    -Applicants must have Aggregate 24 or better. Candidates must have Grade D or better in six subjects; three of the six subjects must be core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies and the other three must be Elective subjects. Applicants offering B. Ed. (Arts) English option must have credit pass (D) in Literature in English and any other two of the following: French, Government, Music, History, Ghanaian Language, and CRS. Applicants who will offer B. Ed Arts in French, History, Music and Religion must have credit passes (D) in French, History, Music and Religion respectively in addition to any two of the General Arts subjects (Grades E and F in any subject is not accepted).

    (ii) West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSSCE):
    -Applicants must have aggregate 36 or better. Candidates must have Grade C6 or better in six subjects; three of the six subjects must be core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies and the other three must be Elective subjects. Applicants offering B. Ed. Arts, English option must have credit pass (C6) in Literature in English and any other two of the following: French, Government, Music, History, Ghanaian Language, and CRS. Applicants who will offer B.Ed Arts in French, History, Music and Religion must have credit passes (C6) in French, History, Music and Religion respectively in addition to any two of the General Arts subjects (Grades D7 and E8 are not accepted).

    (iii) General Certificate Of Education (GCE) ‘O’ and ‘A’ Levels
    -Candidates must have five (5) credit passes (Grade 6) including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subject (for Science students) at the “O” Level AND at least three (3) passes at the GCE Advanced level one of the subjects at “A” levels should be Literature in English or French or History or Music or Religion for candidates who will offer B.ED. Arts English, French, History, Music and Religion respectively.

    One of the ‘A’ level passes must be at a grade not lower than Grade D.

    (iv) Mature Candidates:
    -Mature Candidates must be at least 25 years old at the time of application and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth which is at least five years old at the time of application. Candidates are expected to pass an entrance examination in General Paper and either English and or Mathematics and a Paper in the elective subjects area. Successful candidates at the entrance examination may be required to attend a selection interview. The Mature entrance examination shall be moderated by University of Cape Coast, the Mentor institution.

    (v) Level 200

    Applicants admitted at level 200 must have any of the following:
    -Three-Year Certificate “A”, Post-Secondary.
    Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) with third class or pass

    (vi) Level 300
    -Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) or Teachers Diploma holders from a recognized institution with at least 2nd Class Lower Division will be admitted. In addition, candidates may be required to attend a selection interview.

    (vii) International Students

    Admission requirements and procedures for international students are the same as outlined above. In addition, every international student must:
    -complete a Financial Statement that clearly demonstrates ability to pay all expenses associated with his/her study at EPUC,including tuition, accommodation, books, food, health care, and other expenses.
    -pay tuition, hostel and all other fees in full and in advance, for each academic year, before course registration.
    -submit passports and other travel documents for verification.
    -submit a Police Clearance from home country.
    -reside in the University College-operated hostels.
    -register with the local Ghana Police Service in Ho.

    (viii) Proficiency in English Language
    -All students whose native language or previous language of instruction is not English (such as students from Francophone countries) must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending and speaking English. All students applying for admission whose previous language of instruction is not English may present TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results, or will be required to write an English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) and pass it. Candidates will have to arrange with TOEFL/ELPT for their transcript to be transferred to the EPUC for processing.
