    Course entry requirements:
    (i) Admissions through the UTME
    For admission to 100 level, candidates must possess five (5) credit passes at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), GCE, NECO or equivalent in relevant subjects in not more than two sittings; and obtain a score of 140 and above in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

    -University shall insist on possession of credit passes in English Language and Mathematics for all categories of students.
    -The University shall also conduct post JAMB screening to ensure that only the best students are admitted. In addition to the general admission requirements stated above, a candidate must meet specific departmental requirements

    (ii) Admission through Direct Entry mode
    -For admission to 200 level, candidates must possess five (5) passes at credit level (including English Language) at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), GCE, NECO or equivalent in relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.
    -In addition to the above, candidates should have at least two advanced level passes in the General Certificate of Education examination in relevant subjects, or
    -Ordinary National Diploma with credit level or Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) with Credit level.
    -Passes in two IJMB/JUPEB courses out of the three

    Admissions into 300 level
    Candidates with HND, or third class degree can apply for admission into 300 level.

    IJMB
    Kwararafa University also offers the Interim Joint Matriculations Board (IJMB)programme. It is a nationally recognized one year programme which offers successful candidates the opportunity of gaining Direct entry (200 level) admission into any of the Universities

    (iii) The entry requirements for IJMB
    For admission to IJMB, a candidates must possess four(4) credit passes at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), GCE, NECO or equivalent in relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.

    The subjects offered at IJMB include: Lit. in English, History, CRK, Government, Economics, Business Studies, Accounting, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Geography, Agricultural Science, among others.

    A combination of any 3 subjects grants admission to study for degrees in:
    -The Natural Sciences
    -Health Sciences
    -Engineering
    -Agricultural Science
    -Social and Management Sciences
    -Humanities

    U.M.E. Candidates
    For admission into the first degree programme in Geography, a candidate must have the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalents with credit level passes in five (5) subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Geography to form the core subjects, with credit in any two other relevant science, social science or humanities subjects at not more than two sittings. The candidate must also earn an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

    Direct Entry Candidates
    Candidates seeking admission by direct entry into the 200 level Geography programme, must have Advanced Level passes in at least two (2) of the subjects which must include Geography, in addition to credit level passes in five of the subjects listed in 3.2.1 above at the SSCE or its equivalents. Candidates with ND/NCE and approved equivalents in relevant fields with at least a lower credit may be considered for direct entry into the programme. Candidate with acceptable pass in the UNIOSUN Foundation Programme are also eligible for admission into the 200 level, provided they possess the requisite qualification for entry into the 100 level of the programme

    Admission requirements:
    Candidates for admission into the four-year degree in Geography, should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate, General Certificate of Education, NECO or their equivalents with at least five credit passes, at not more than two sittings including Mathematics, English Language and Geography. In addition, candidates must have acceptable passes in UTME.

    Direct Entry

    Candidates for direct entry admission shall possess five (5) credits in GCE, SSCE, NECO or their equivalents, and at least two shall be at advance level provided that such passes are not counted at both level examinations. For emphasis, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Geography are required.
    In addition to UTME requirements, candidates must possess NCE/Diploma in Geography from any other recognized institution with at least credit pass.
    Candidates with Diploma in Cartography, Environmental Management and Planning, Survey or any other related field of study with at least credit pass may also be considered.

    The B.Sc. programme lasts for 4 years for UME candidates who start at the 100Level and 3 years for Direct Entry candidates who join at the 200 Level.

    In addition to the above requirements, candidates seeking admission into the 100 Level must sit and pass the University Matriculation Examination (UME) administered by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

    Candidates for the Direct Entry admission must have obtained minimum of Credit passes at the National Diploma in a subject related to Geography or must have obtained GCE-A Level or IJMB passes of which two of the passes must include Geography and one other science subject, in addition to Q-Level credit passes in Mathematics and English Language.

    4. Teacher’s Grade II Certificate with merits and similar provisions in the subjects mentioned
    above.
    5. Direct entry candidates in addition to the O-Level qualifications, should have at least 2 HSC
    (Higher School Certificate), A-Level GCE or NCE (National Certificate in Education) subjects
    one of which must be geography. DEEM (Diploma in Estate and Environmental Management)
    graduate must have their 5 O-Level Credits including Geography in addition to an Upper Credit
    at the DEEM examinations.
