    The minimum admission requirements for programs of the Faculty are as follows:

    Level 100 (UTME) Admissions

    A candidate shall have an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) with the correct subject combination.
    A candidate may also be required to sit for a Post-UTME screening examination to be conducted by the University and obtain an acceptable score for the program applied for as may be set by the University Senate from time to time.
    A candidate shall possess the SSCE/GCE/TC II or equivalent with credit passes in five subjects, at least three of which shall be in the relevant area, obtained in not more than two sittings including English Language and Mathematics (where applicable).
    Level 200 (Direct Entry) Admissions

    A candidate for direct entry admission shall apply only through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
    A candidate shall possess at least one of the following qualifications obtained from recognized institutions that are licensed to run them:
    A two-year recognized diploma in the relevant area with a minimum of a good Lower Credit or equivalent.
    A two-year recognized diploma plus a one-year advanced diploma in the relevant area with a minimum classification of Lower Credit or equivalent.
    The National Certificate of Education (NCE) with a minimum of 9 points in the relevant subjects.
    The Interim Joint Matriculation Board Advanced Level Examination (IJMBE) with a minimum of 8 points in the relevant subjects.
    Any other qualification deemed equivalent to these by the Senate of the University.
    In all cases, ‘O’ Level credit in English Language and Mathematics (where applicable) shall be required.

    For admission into 100 level, candidates must possess credit level passes in five subjects at the SSCE/GCE O'Level/NECO/NABTEB or equivalent, obtained in not more than two sittings. The subjects passed must include English Language and Mathematics for the Sciences & Management Sciences programmes and English Language for the Humanities Programmes Candidates awaiting SSCE/GCE O'Level/NECO/NABTEB results may also apply provided the result would be available at the time of Matriculation.

    (B) Direct Entry into 200-Level:
    Candidates for admission into 200-level must have, in addition to requirement for admission into 100-level, passed G.C.E(A/L) in 2 relevant subjects or passed NCE, OND, HND or equivalent at not less than lower credit level.

    (C) JAMB REQUIREMENTS
    100 Level Candidates are required to sit for the 2017/2018 UTME of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and attain the prescribed cut-off marks. This is a statutory requirement for admission into Samuel Adegboyega University. Applicants are to ensure that their UTME subject combinations qualify them for their chosen programmes. Direct Entry candidates must obtain the JAMB Direct Entry Forms. Candidates, who did not choose Samuel Adegboyega University initially in their 2017 UTME but are interested, are also eligible to apply for admission and participate in the admission screening exercise of the University.

    UTME REQUIREMENTS

    Candidates applying to Mountain Top University are expected to sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and attain the National Aggregate Score. This is a statutory requirement for entry into Nigerian universities. Candidates are required to apply for programmes of their choice by completing the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Registration Forms. They are to ensure that their UTME subject combination qualifies them for their chosen programmes.



    Candidates must take at the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations [UTME], English Language, Literature in English and any other two subjects from the Social Sciences and the Arts. It is required that candidates must possess 5 O’ Level Credits at one sitting and 6 O’ Level Credits at two sittings including English Language, Mathematics and Literature-in-English.

    DIRECT ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

    Candidates must have obtained five credit passes at one sitting or six credits passes at two sittings at the ‘O’ Level/Senior Secondary Certificate (WAEC; NECO, etc.). Such credits must include English Language, Literature in English and Mathematics. In addition, candidates must possess two “A” level passes in relevant subjects including English Language and Literature.

    Candidates admitted on a four-year programme by UTME (Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination) must have passed English Language, Literature in English and three other relevant subjects with at least credit level in not more than two sittings in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent.

    Direct entry candidates for the three year programme, in addition to the above, must have obtained a grade of at least a credit pass in Literature in English and one other Arts subject in the GCE or its equivalent.

    Transfer students may be admitted for a four- three- or two-year programme for the B.A. Degree based on their academic qualification. This must be thoroughly verified by the Department and approved by the senate.

    Direct Entry
    Candidates for Direct Entry admission shall possess five Credits in GCE, SSCE, NECO, or their equivalents, of which at least two shall be at Advanced Level, provided that such passes are not counted at both levels of the examination. For emphasis, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Literature are required.
