    Admission requirements:
    Admission to 100 level is on the basis of performance in the University Matriculation Examination (U.M.E.) conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) or good performances in the Pre-Degree Science Programme final examination.
    In addition, candidate must have at least five credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology at the S.S.C.E/G.C.E O'Level or its equivalent in order to qualify for admission into any of the faculties. For this purpose, a combination of credit passes at ”0” Level in five science subjects and at not more than two sittings is acceptable.
    Candidates are also required to fulfill such faculty and department entry requirements as may be prescribed from time to time.

    Admission by Direct Entry
    Admission to 200 level by Direct Entry is based on the performance at the G.C.E. ”A” Level Examination or its equivalent. Applicants with any of the following qualifications may be considered for admission by Direct Entry, provided all the five subjects at '0' Level are obtained at not more than two sittings;
    ND with upper credit/HND/N.C.E. at credit level in relevant subjects (plus U.M.E. requirements) may be considered for admission into the 200 Level.
    Penalty for Gaining Admission with Falsified Credentials/Certificates
    Candidates admitted to the University are seriously warned in their own interest, not to present false credentials/certificates to the University for their admission. The laws that established LAUTECH empowers the Senate to deprive any person of any degree, diploma or other award of the University which has been conferred upon him/her if, after due enquiry, it is discovered that the candidate has fraudulently gained admission into the University or obtained that award.

    U.M.E. Candidates
    For admission into the first degree programme in Urban and Regional Planning, a candidate must have the senior secondary certificate (SSCE) or its equivalents with credit level passes in five (5) subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Geography to form the core subjects, with credit in other relevant Science subjects at not more than two sittings. The candidate must also earn an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

    Direct Entry Candidates
    Candidates seeking admission by direct entry into the 200 level Urban and Regional Planning programme, must have Advanced Level passes in at least Mathematics and Physicsy, in addition to credit level passes in five of the subjects listed in 3.2.1 above at the SSCE or its equivalents. Candidates with ND and approved equivalents in relevant fields with at least a lower credit may be considered for direct entry into the prograamme.candidates with acceptable pass in the UNIOSUN Foundation programme are also eligible for admission for entry into the 100 level of the programme.

    (a) UTME Admission

    Admission into the department is mainly through the UTME. The entry requirement is 5 credits at not more than two sittings in SSCE, WASSCE, NECO, or its equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two subjects from Chemistry, Biology/Agric. Science, Economics and Technical Drawing. The prospective Candidate must have at least a pass in Physics.

    UTME Subjects:

    English Language, Mathematics and any two from Physics, Chemistry, Economics and Geography.

    (b) Direct Entry Admission

    In addition to fulfilling the requirement for (a) above, candidates seeking admission to 200 Level shall possess any of the following:

    i. Advanced level passes in at least two of the following: Mathematics, Geography, Economics, Physics and Chemistry; and

    ii. National Diploma (ND) at Upper Credit in Town and Regional Planning.

    UTME:

    In addition to having a UTME Score acceptable to the University and also a post UTME score, each candidate must have at least five credit level passes. These must include English language, Mathematics, Geography and any two of Economics, Tech, Drawing, Government, Biology and Chemistry, Physics and fine Arts. Candidates possessing other qualifications may be considered by the senate on the recommendation of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning.

    Direct Entry:

    Holders of the National Diploma in URP or a closely related field of environmental sciences may be considered for direct entry admission. Such candidates, however must have obtained a. The five credits mentioned above,
    b. Not less than a lower credit in National Diploma.
