    Minimum entry requirements:
    a). Admission shall be offered to holders of a first degree in Agriculture, Horticulture or related disciplines, with an upper second class honours and above or equivalent qualification from recognized institutions, or its equivalent, from Chuka University or any other approved university recognized by the senate
    b). In exceptional cases, the senate may also admit to the Master of Science in Crop Protection a holder of second class honours (Lower Division) provided the candidate has two years work experience in a relevant field or provided such candidates can, on the basis of research and academic work they have done show that they are well qualified to undertake post graduate work by passing qualifying examinations.
    c). In addition, the applicants should request three persons, one of who shall have taught the applicant at University level, to send letters of reference directly to the Director, Board of Postgraduate Studies.
    d). Subject to approval by the Senate, Departments may formulate regulations requiring applicants to have attained other academic qualifications as may be consistent with the goals of their Master’s programme or to appear for interview to determine their suitability for admission.

A holder of a degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours in Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Botany and Zoology, Environmental Sciences, Forestry, Horticulture or related plant science degree or Bachelor of Education in Science with botany and Zoology option and any other relevant science disciplines from the University of Nairobi or any other institution recognized by senate.
    2. A holder of a degree with at least Lower Second Class Honours in any of the degrees specified in (i) above with two years of relevant experience or a postgraduate diploma in (i) above or equivalent from the University of Nairobi or any other institution recognized by senate.
    3. A holder of a pass degree with a postgraduate diploma in the above relevant disciplines or its equivalent from the University of Nairobi or any other institution recognized by the senate and 2 years relevant experience .
    4. A holder of pass degree in any of the degree categories specified in (ii) above with at least five years relevant work experience.

    MINIMUM ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor of Science(BSc.) degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours or equivalent in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Range Management, Wildlife Management, Forestry, Environmental Science, Biological and Natural Sciences from a recognized University; OR,
    Bachelors degree as in 1 above with a Lower Second Class Honors plus at least two years of relevant work experience/ demonstrated research ability.
