Institutions Offering Master of Science in Food Science and Technology

•  University of Nairobi, Nairobi  
  Admission Requirements.
  1. The common regulations governing the admission into a Masters’ degree programme in the University of Nairobi shall apply.
  2. Holders of at least upper second-class honours BSc. degree or equivalent in natural and biological sciences, engineering and health sciences or any other related discipline from the University of Nairobi or any other institution recognized by the Senate of the University of Nairobi.
  3. Holders of lower-second class honours degree or equivalent in any discipline from the University of Nairobi or any other university recognized by the University of Nairobi senate with additional relevant training or evidence of research or work experience.
  4. Holders of a pass in BSc degree in any of the degree programmes specified in b) above with working experience of at least three years.
  5. Holders of postgraduate diploma from the University of Nairobi or any other institution recognized by the senate of the University of Nairobi. Such candidates must satisfy the minimum requirements for admission to a Bachelor’s degree.
  6. Students from non-English speaking countries will be required to have a proficiency certificate for the English language.

  Minimum entry requirements:
  1. Be a holder of Bachelor of Science Degree in Food Science and Technology with at least a Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from DeKUT or any other institution recognized by DeKUT Senate.
  OR
  2. Be a holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree with at least Second Class Honours (Upper Division) in a related field, which is recognized by DeKUT Senate as an adequate pre-requisite for M.Sc. in Food Science and Technology

  Duration: 4 semesters

  Minimum entry requirements:
  - Minimum requirement Second Class Honors (Upper Division) in relevant Bachelor’s Degree Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology and Nutrition as (Food Science, Food Science & Nutrition, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related disciplines) or Second Class ( Lower Division) in relevant Bachelor’s Degree with two (2) yrs relevant experience.
