In addition, the holders of HND, PGD/PGDE certificates should satisfy the basic School Certificate or GCE Ordinary Level entry requirements.

  Course entry requirements:
  (a) SSC or its equivalent with credit passes in at least 5 subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Biology Chemistry and any other relevant subject at not more than two sittings.
  (b) B.Sc. Degree in Botany with a minimum of Second Class Lower Division.
  (c) Candidates who possess B.Sc. with a minimum of Third Class or HND at Upper Credit Level and PGD in Botany at Upper Credit level may be considered for admission.

  Course entry requirements:
  i. Candidates must have a minimum of 5 credits pass inclusive of the following: English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
  ii. Candidates should have minimum of second class (lower division) in Botany or any allied course as recognized by the Senate of Lagos State University.
  
  Course duration:
  i. A full time academic M. Sc. programme would run for a minimum of 3 consecutive semesters and maximum of 4 semesters.
  ii. For extension beyond the specified maximum period, a special permission of Senate shall be
