  Course entry requirements
  a. Direct entry:
  
  i. SSSCE/WASSCE Holders: Applicants must have at least ( A-D/A1-D7) in three (3) Core Subjects at SHS Level (English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science) plus at least credit passes (A-D)/(A1-C6) in three (3) elective subjects in any of the following areas or its combination: General Arts, Science or Technical subjects.
  
  ii. Construction Technician Certificate (CTC): Final CTC II (Old Scheme) or Final CTCIII (New Scheme).
  
  iii. CTC I , II; With CTC I, applicants must have passes in all four (4) papers. In addition, applicants must have passes in English Language and Mathematics. With CTC II, applicants must have passes in all four (4) papers with credits in at least two (2) papers. iv. Advanced Craft Certificate (B&C, C&J, FC, P&D, and Plumbing): In addition, applicants must have passes in three (3) Core Subjects at SHS Level (English Language and Mathematics and Integrated Science).
  
  b. Mature entry:
  Applicants must be at least 25 years old at the time of submitting the application (show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth) and must have at least three (3) years relevant working experience. Applicants must also have credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in SSSCE/WASSCE or any recognised examination. In the absence of having credit passes in either English Language or Mathematics or both, applicants should pass written selection examinations in the area she or he is deficient (i.e. Mathematics or English Language or both) to be conducted by the Polytechnic Applicant must pass an interview to be conducted by the Polytechnic. In addition, applicant must have one of the following:
  
  i. Building Construction Related Courses Certificate (CTC I, II); with CTC I, applicants must have passes in all four (4) papers and passes in English Language and Mathematics. With CTC II, applicants must have passes in at least three (3) papers.
  
  ii. At least five (5) credits at GCE ‘O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (Physics, Chemistry or General Science)
  
  iii. WASSCE/SSSCE passes in three (3) Core Subjects (including English Language and Mathematics) plus passes (A1-E8)/(A-E) in any three (3) elective subjects in any of the following areas or its combinations: General Arts, Business, Science, or Technical subjects.
•  Tamale Technical University, Tamale  
  Course entry requirements:
  (a) General Entry Requirements for HND Programmes (Direct Entry)
  (i) SSSCE Applicants: passes (A-D) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated science; and must possess a minimum of D in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialisation.
  (ii) WASSCE Candidates: passes (A1-D7) in three (3) core subjects namely English Language, Mathematics and Integrated science; and must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialisation.
  (iii) GBCE/ABCE/A’LEVEL/O’LEVEL Candidates: Six (6) GBCE/GCE’O’ – Level Credit passes (including English Language and Mathematics) Plus at three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialisation
  (iv) DBS/RSA III /Senior Stenographer Applicants: DBS, RSA III certificate plus four WASSCE passes (A1-D7) or four SSSCE, RSA II passes (A-D) including English Language and Mathematics.
  (v) Applicants from Technical Schools (Certificate II Applicants): applicants must have passes in three (3) subjects including English language and mathematics and Integrated Science plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
  (vi) Teacher’s Certificate: Applicant must have Three-year Post-Secondary Certificate or Four-year Certificate “A’ with a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience, plus three (3) GCE ‘O’-Level SSSCE/WASSCE Passes in relevant elective subjects.
  
  (b) Entry Requirements for Mature HND Applicants:
  -Applicants must be twenty-five (25) years old and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of date of birth which is five (5) years old at the time of application.
  
  (i) Must pass a written examination and an interview to be conducted by the University.
  (ii) Must provide evidence of at least two (2) years’ work experience.
•  Ho Technical University, Ho  
  Course entry requirements:
  I. SSSCE HOLDERS
  a. Five (5) passes (A-C) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics and at least two (2) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.
  Or
  b. Six passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and at least three (3) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.
  
  II.WASSCE HOLDERS
  
  a. Five (5) passes (A1-C6) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and at least two (2) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization
  or
  b. Six passes (A1-D7) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics; and must possess a minimum of D7 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.
  
  III. DBS HOLDERS
  Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE Credits including English Language and Mathematics plus at least three DBS passes in relevant courses.
  
  IV.GBCE HOLDERS
  Five (5) GBCE credits including English, Business Mathematics and Integrated Science/Social Studies.
  
  V. TECHNICIAN PART II/III HOLDERS
  Certificate holders with four SSSCE/WASSCE credit including English Language and Mathematics.
  
  VI.TECHNICAL SCHOOL (CERTIFICATE II) HOLDERS
  Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science plus any three (3) relevant trade courses.
  
  VII. MATURE CANDIDATES
  a. Must be at least 25 years old by the time of application.
  b. Must pass a written aptitude test (English, Mathematics and General paper in relevant area)
