Admission requirements for current grade 12 learners
(i) Minimum NSC statutory requirements for diploma entry must be met.
(ii) An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematics or Technical Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 330.
(iii) An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy requires a minimum Applicant Score of 345.
(iv) NSC achievement rating of at least 30% for Mathematics or Technical Mathematics or 50% for Mathematical Literacy.
(v) Applicants may also be provisionally admitted on the basis of work experience, age and maturity. Admission is at the discretion of the Head of Department.
Admission requirements for applicants who matriculated prior to 2008
(i) Senior Certificate comprising Higher Grade and Standard Grade subjects only, with at least HG=D or SG=B for two languages, which must include the language modules to be taken in the diploma.
(ii) Matriculation exemption will be a strong recommendation.
(iii) Learners must score at least 30 points on the university’s SPS rating scale.
(iv) Candidates may be required to answer an interest questionnaire.
(v) Applicants may also be provisionally admitted on the basis of work experience, age and maturity. Admission is at the discretion of the Head of Department.
