  Electives and program structure:
  You will undertake core studies in applied mathematics, together with a broad range of elective and optional subjects. Each year, you'll participate in work-integrated learning, typically involving teamwork on a real-world industry problem.
  
  In first year, you'll study the basics of calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, computer programming and problem-solving.
  
  In second and third years, you'll continue with more advanced applied mathematics subjects. These will include mathematical modelling and computational methods, alongside fundamental mathematical techniques required of graduates. You will also undertake two industry-related subjects and eight electives.
  
  Some examples of subjects include mathematical computing and algorithms, statistical methodologies, applied linear algebra, modelling with differential equations, machine learning, complex networks in biology and ecology, cryptography for cyber communication, and applied baysian statistics.
