  Course Structure:
  • Students can apply to complete this program full-time over one year (September to September) or part-time over two years.
  • Full-time students will take core modules and optional modules. Part-time students will consult with the program directors about which modules to take per year.
  • Modules will be assessed through a variety of assignments including short reflective pieces, reports and research essays.
  • Over the year students will attend a series of workshops on research skills and dissertation preparation. These will be provided by the Program Director, with additional input from the Writing Centre, the University Library and the Careers Office.
  • During the second semester and over the summer full-time students will work independently on a dissertation of approximately 15000 words, supervised by a member of staff. The dissertation carries 30 ECTS.
  • To be awarded an MA, students will complete 90 ECTS; students who do not complete a dissertation will be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma.
  
  Course Duration: 1 Year Full Time
  
  Entry requirements:
  Applicants must have a recognized primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level.
  Normally, applicants must have achieved a 2.1 or above in a relevant discipline. Applicants with a lower grade in their undergraduate degree and/or with equivalent professional experience may also be admitted on the basis of a successful interview and the submission of satisfactory documentation.
