    Admission into Obong University shall be through Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) or Direct Entry. In addition to attaining the general required standard in UTME, candidates must satisfy the general university requirements as well as the specific School/Faculty and Programmes requirements.     Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with passes at credit or merit levels in conjunction with credit passes in relevant subjects at GCE, WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents may be considered. No subject may be counted at both TC II and GCE O/L
    Candidates who wish to change their first choice to Obong University are required to:

    Direct Entry

    Candidates for Direct Entry admission must possess any of the following qualifications:

    Two (2) passes at GCE A/L, HSC, IJMB or approved equivalents in relevant subjects and at least credit passes in three (3) other subjects, including English Language at GCE (O/L), WASCE, SSCE, NECO or approved equivalents at not more than two sittings

    Two “A” level passes including Government or History, Mathematics, Economics, Geography
    Diploma in Mass Communication, Communication Arts, Theatre Arts or any other related field at distinction or Upper Credit level, a Pass in Mathematics, Credits in English Language, Literature in English, other subjects (Government or History, Commerce, Economics, Geography). HND (Lower Credit) in Mass Communication, Marketing, Book Publishing, Printing Technology or related field from a recognized Polytechnic in addition to UTMME requirements

    Admissions into 300 level
    Candidates with HND, or third class degree can apply for admission into 300 level.

    IJMB
    Kwararafa University also offers the Interim Joint Matriculations Board (IJMB)programme. It is a nationally recognized one year programme which offers successful candidates the opportunity of gaining Direct entry (200 level) admission into any of the Universities

    (iii) The entry requirements for IJMB
    For admission to IJMB, a candidates must possess four(4) credit passes at Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE), GCE, NECO or equivalent in relevant subjects in not more than two sittings.

    Candidates admitted through UME Entrance Examination enroll in the four-year degree programme while those with Direct Entry take three years to complete the programme. Direct Entry students who are expected to begin at the 200 level may be required to take all GST courses simultaneously.

    (C) JAMB REQUIREMENTS
    100 Level Candidates are required to sit for the 2017/2018 UTME of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and attain the prescribed cut-off marks. This is a statutory requirement for admission into Samuel Adegboyega University. Applicants are to ensure that their UTME subject combinations qualify them for their chosen programmes. Direct Entry candidates must obtain the JAMB Direct Entry Forms. Candidates, who did not choose Samuel Adegboyega University initially in their 2017 UTME but are interested, are also eligible to apply for admission and participate in the admission screening exercise of the University.

    The Department of Mass Communication, Taraba State University offers two categories of admissions for students pursuing B.Sc. Mass Communication. These are: Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), Direct Entry (DE).

    UTME applicants for admission into four years Degree Programme in Mass Communication should posses SSCE/GCE/NECO/Grade II with at least five credits including English, Mathematics and any three subjects from the Arts and Social Sciences, as well as an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) examination.

    Direct entry:

    Direct Entry applicants for admissions into the three years degree programme in mass communication should possess at least three credits at the GCE (“A” level), Diploma (at least lower credit) and NCE (at least merit level) in relevant field. In addition, the candidate must have five relevant credits at “O” level which must include English, Mathematics, and any three from the Arts and Social Sciences.

    Applicants with Diploma in mass communication, Journalism, Information and Communication Technology, Language and Communication Arts, Law, Public Relation, Marketing and Adverting Practices, Radio and Television production will be preferred.
