    Course entry requirements:
    (i) West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Applicants
    -For WASSCE applicants, the applicants must have Credit passes (A1 – C6) in Core English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science. The elective subjects should be selected from any three (3) of the following areas: Science, General Arts, General Agriculture with Chemistry, Home Economics with Food and Nutrition. The aggregate should be 36 or better. This entry is at level 100.

    (ii) Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) Applicants
    -For SSSCE Applicants, an applicant must have Credit passes (A – D) in Core English, Core Mathematics, and Integrated Science. The elective subjects should be selected from any three (3) of the following areas: Science, General Arts, General Agriculture with Chemistry, Home Economics with Food and Nutrition. The aggregate should be 24 or better. This entry is at level 100.

    (iii) Diploma Applicants
    -Diploma in Midwifery should be obtained from a recognised Institution, in addition to the basic qualification at WASSSCE / ‘O’ Level. Such candidates who must also be Registered Midwives (RMs) may be admitted to the Third Year of the programme after a selection interview. Post basic midwives and Diploma general nurses who wish to pursue the Midwifery programme may be admitted to the Second Year of the programme.

    (iv) International Students
    -Foreign students may be admitted on the basis of qualifications from their home countries for which the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) shall determine equivalences. Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non-English speaking countries. In addition, foreign applicants must satisfy the professional entry requirements determined by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.

    (v) Mature Applicants
    -There will be no mature applicants for the midwifery programme.

    (i) WASSCE I SSCE – Six (6) credit passes (A1-C6) including English Language, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science and any three (3) relevant elective subject in General Science. General Arts or Home Economics with an overall aggregate of 36 or better.

    (ii) Diploma Holders: Applicants with diploma in Midwifery from a recognized institution plus licensure examinations of the Nursing and Midwifery Council will be admitted to the third year.

    (iii) Access Programme: Holders of NAC/HAC/NAP/CHNC certificates will do the six(6) weeks access course before admitting into BSc. Nursing Programme.

    (iv) Enrolled Nurse: Holders can gain admission to the six-week ACCESS programme.

    NB: All shortlisted applicants, irrespective of the entry route, MAY be required to pass a selection interview and/or entrance examination for admission into the programme.
