  Course Entry Requirements:
  - Candidates must have a master’s degree in Food Science and Technology.
  - Other candidates must have completed course work in any three (3) out of the under-listed areas at the Masters’ levels.
  • Food Chemistry or related courses
  • Food Microbiology or related courses
  • Food Processing/Technology/Engineering or related courses
  • Food Product Development/Sensory Science or related courses
  - Candidates with the under-listed degrees are eligible to apply provided they are willing to satisfy the prerequisite courses while on the PhD programme.
  • MSc/MPhil Food Quality Management or its equivalent
  • MSc/MPhil Chemistry or its equivalent
  • MSc/MPhil Food Microbiology or its equivalent
  • MSc/MPhil Biochemistry or its equivalent
  • MSc/MPhil Agricultural Science or its equivalent
  Admission shall be based on application with relevant qualification, research proposal, performance at a selection interview and acceptance of prerequisite courses where recommendations have been made by the Board of the Department.
  
  Course Duration:
  Full time- 4 years
  Part time- 5 years
