Course entry requirements:
(i) Holders of any of the following degrees, Bachelor of Science in Public Health, Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB), Bachelor of Dental Science (BDS), Bachelor of Nursing Sciences (BScN), Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.), Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) from any institution recognized by the University of Makeni Senate and at least one year of post-registration experience in a medical or other health related field.

(ii) Holders of a first degree from the University of Makeni and other recognized institution in a discipline closely related to public health and medicine including an upper second class honours degree in environmental health, nutrition and statistics who in addition have relevant and adequate practical experience of not less than two years

(iii) Holders of Bachelor of Science degree of lower second class in the discipline Mentioned above with relevant Post Graduate Diploma or three years relevant experience can be admitted with the approval of the University of Makeni Senate

-Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree or its equivalent with at least a second class degree or division II degree pass. Also, applicants with a Postgraduate Diploma Certificate in a related discipline may apply. Applicants seeking admission into Master’s programme are required to submit a certified copy of their Bachelor degree/Postgraduate Diploma certificate (s) together with the transcript and a proposal stating their area of interest in the programme. A work plan for the entire programme is also required.

-Applicants will be expected to hold a good first degree in a science subject from a recognized university. Preference would be given to those with a background in medical health sciences, biological sciences, chemistry or environmental sciences.
