  Admission Requirements
  
  UTME:
  
  Candidates must have an appropriate pass in UTME examination of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB). In addition the candidate must hold WASC/SSCE/ GCE/NECO or its equivalent with at least credit in 5 subjects (at not more than two sittings) including English language, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
  
  Direct Entry:
  
  a. Candidate with Registered Nurse certificate must have five credits at ordinary level which must include English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics at credit level at not more than two sittings,
  b. Candidates with GCE Advanced level certificate must also have appropriate pass in the screening test of the university.
  c. Degree holders in science disciplines with not less than 2nd Class Honours may be admitted through direct entry.
  Direct Entry students will be placed at 200 level of study. The non-nursing qualified direct entry students will be expected to sit for at least 2 professional examinations like UTME candidates. Already trained nurses can sit for the professional examination not already possessed.

  Admission requirements:
  Candidates are admitted into the Department of Nursing Science, for the Bachelor of Nursing Science degree and for professional certificates in Nursing and Midwifery either through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) or by Direct Entry(DE). The Direct entry candidates, in addition to satisfying the university minimum entry requirements, must have obtained the RN certificate from accredited institution. Both categories of students must have obtained a minimum of credit in five subjects at Ordinary Level (WAEC GCE, SSCE, and NECO: combined results are acceptable), which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at not more than two sittings. The UTME candidates must have an acceptable pass mark at the UTME conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

  1. Applicants for Nursing must write UTME and attain an acceptable score (National JAMB Minimum Cutoff) in the use of English, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics or Biology .
  
  2. For a candidate who has attained the benchmark standard in the UTME to be registered for B.Sc Nursing Science in the University, he/she must have a minimum of Credit pass in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
