  Course entry requirements:
  Students intending to graduate in Software Engineering must satisfy the general University entrance requirements and should normally pass:
  (i) Minimum of five Ordinary Level (SSCE or NECO) credit passes in English Language, Physics, Mathematics and any other two subjects from Further Mathematics, Computer Studies, Chemistry, Geography, Economics, Biology or and Agricultural Science at NOT more than two (2) sittings.
  (ii) Minimum UTME / Post-UTME score for admission into the Department which shall be determined by the University admission committee.
  
  Candidates can be admitted into any of the degree Software Engineering programmes by one of the following three ways:
  (a) Direct Entry admission
  -Candidates for direct entry while fulfilling the conditions in (i) and (ii) above must have in addition passes with a satisfactory grade at “A” level in Physics and Mathematics may be considered for 200 level admission. Also, candidates seeking admission into a programme in Computer Science through Direct Entry must have passes at GCE ‘A’ Level/IJMB or its equivalent in a minimum of two Science subjects relevant to the intended programme to be considered for admission into 200 Level. This is in addition to fulfilling the requirement of a minimum of credit level passes in five relevant subjects at ‘O’ Level as indicated above.
  
  (b) Inter-University Transfer Mode
  Students can transfer into 200-Level courses provided they have the relevant qualifications. Universities are to certify that students meet the minimum requirements for the Inter-university Transfer.

  Course entry requirements:
  (i) O’Levels: The candidate must have not less than five credit passes (at one sitting) or six credit passes (at two sittings) in Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE) or General Certificate Examination Ordinary Level (GCE, ‘O’ Level) organised by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) or the National Examination Council (NECO), including English and Mathematics. Five Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and other relevant courses for all categories of students seeking admission is mandatory.
  
  
  
  (ii) Direct Entry: As from the second phase of development, General Certificate Examination Advanced Level (GCE A’ Level) holders with a minimum of 9 points plus ‘O’ Level English and Mathematics, OND with a minimum of credit pass; or graduates of recognized related programmes may be considered for a direct entry.
