The Campus is situated within Karuri Level 4 Hospital in Kiambaa Sub-County, Kiambu County.Year of Establishment: 1963Inception and Growth:The idea of starting the Campus was mooted by the Ministry of Health as a National Reference Health Centre. In 1960, the construction work kicked off in earnest with funding from the World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF, Rockefeller Foundation, Government of Kenya, the former Kiambu County Council. Three years later (January 1963) the facility was officially opened. Karuri Campus was given autonomy in 2016effectively, separating it from KMTC Nairobi.
