    Admission requirements:
    U.M.E. Candidates
    For admission into the first degree programme in Geography, a candidate must have the Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or its equivalents with credit level passes in five (5) subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Geography to form the core subjects, with credit in any two other relevant science, social science or humanities subjects at not more than two sittings. The candidate must also earn an acceptable score in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

    Direct Entry Candidates
    Candidates seeking admission by direct entry into the 200 level Geography programme, must have Advanced Level passes in at least two (2) of the subjects which must include Geography, in addition to credit level passes in five of the subjects listed in 3.2.1 above at the SSCE or its equivalents. Candidates with ND/NCE and approved equivalents in relevant fields with at least a lower credit may be considered for direct entry into the programme. Candidate with acceptable pass in the UNIOSUN Foundation Programme are also eligible for admission into the 200 level, provided they possess the requisite qualification for entry into the 100 level of the programme

    Admission requirements:
    Candidates for admission into the four-year degree in Geography, should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate, General Certificate of Education, NECO or their equivalents with at least five credit passes, at not more than two sittings including Mathematics, English Language and Geography. In addition, candidates must have acceptable passes in UTME.

    Direct Entry

    Candidates for direct entry admission shall possess five (5) credits in GCE, SSCE, NECO or their equivalents, and at least two shall be at advance level provided that such passes are not counted at both level examinations. For emphasis, credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Geography are required.
    In addition to UTME requirements, candidates must possess NCE/Diploma in Geography from any other recognized institution with at least credit pass.
    Candidates with Diploma in Cartography, Environmental Management and Planning, Survey or any other related field of study with at least credit pass may also be considered.

    Duration:
    The B.Sc. programme lasts for 4 years for UME candidates who start at the 100Level and 3 years for Direct Entry candidates who join at the 200 Level.

    Minimum entry requirement:
    5 credits in the GCE-Q Level, NECQ or WAEC (in not more than 2 sittings) . and these must include Geography and any other two science subjects, in addition to credit passes in Mathematics and English Language.

    In addition to the above requirements, candidates seeking admission into the 100 Level must sit and pass the University Matriculation Examination (UME) administered by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

    Candidates for the Direct Entry admission must have obtained minimum of Credit passes at the National Diploma in a subject related to Geography or must have obtained GCE-A Level or IJMB passes of which two of the passes must include Geography and one other science subject, in addition to Q-Level credit passes in Mathematics and English Language.

    Entry requirements:
    1. Pass the UTM E (U niversity Tertiary Matriculation Examination) in acceptable subjects.
    2. Have the University entry requirement of at least 5 credits, which must include Geography,
    English and Mathematics.
    3. Have GCE (General Certificate of Education) O-Level passes in five subjects at credit level
    which must include Geography, English and Mathematics.
    4. Teacher’s Grade II Certificate with merits and similar provisions in the subjects mentioned
    above.
    5. Direct entry candidates in addition to the O-Level qualifications, should have at least 2 HSC
    (Higher School Certificate), A-Level GCE or NCE (National Certificate in Education) subjects
    one of which must be geography. DEEM (Diploma in Estate and Environmental Management)
    graduate must have their 5 O-Level Credits including Geography in addition to an Upper Credit
    at the DEEM examinations.

    Admission requirements:
    UME Entry:
    Candidates for admission into the 4-year degree programme (UME) should possess a SSCE, GCE, NECO or their equivalents with at least five Credit passes, at not more than two sittings including English Language and Geography. In addition candidates must have a minimum of Pass grade in O’ Level Mathematics and acceptable passes in UME.

    Direct Entry:
    Candidates for Direct Entry admission (3-year programme) shall possess five Credits in GCE, SSCE, NECO or their equivalents, of which, at least two, shall be at Advanced Level, provided that such passes are not counted at both levels of examinations. For emphasis, Credit passes in English Language and Geography as well as a minimum of Pass grade in Mathematics are required.
  • Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, Birnin Kebbi  
    Admission requirements:
    Candidates for admission into the four – year degree in Geography should possess a Senior Secondary School Certificate, General Certificate of Education (GCE), NECO or their equivalents with at least five credit passes,at not more than two sittings including Mathematics, English Language and Geography. In addition, candidates must have acceptable passes in UME.

    Direct Entry

    Admission requirements:
    'O' Level Requirements: 'O' Level passes in 5 subjects which should include Geography, English Language and Mathematics.
    Direct Entry: Two 'A' Level passes in relevant subjects which must include Geography, plus other subject chosen from Economics, Mathematics, Business Method and Government OR NCE (Social Studies) combined with any Social Sciences subject may be accepted.
