  (a) An MSc degree in the discipline in which the student wants to do a PhD degree and
  preferably with a minimum of 60% average mark in the MSc degree.
  (b) On special recommendation, including application of the RPL Policy and Strategy of the
  University of Limpopo, and after consultation with and approval by the Head of Department.
  (c) In addition to those requirements above, the skills profile of potential students will be
  assessed and they may be required to qualify themselves with additional competencies as
  deemed to be essential by the Department.
  
  Course Duration:
  (a) Minimum period of two (2) years.
  (b) Maximum period of four (4) years.

  Doctorate:
  - A Master of Science from Wits or another university;
  - A graduate of this or another university who holds a degree in another faculty whose curriculum has ordinarily extended over not less than four academic years of full-time study;
  - A supervisor from the relevant School must be identified and approached prior to application.
