    Course entry requirements:
    (a) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)
    -All candidates for the programme and entering from 100 level must attempt Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination questions in English, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science plus one other science or social science subject such as Economics, Physics, and Geography. In addition to passing the UTME, candidates seeking admission into the Department through UTME entry mode (100 level), must pass at credit level five (5) WASCE/GCE/NECO subjects at one sitting or six (6) subjects at not more than two sittings including English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology/Agricultural Science plus one other subject science or social science subjects such as Economics, Physics, and Geography.

    (b) Direct Entry Requirements
    -Candidates entering through the Direct Entry mode (200 level) must satisfy the above minimum ‘O’ level conditions for admission to the degree option and in addition have passed the General Certificate of Education Advanced Level or its equivalent in Chemistry and at least one science or social science subject from Mathematics, Biology, Agriculture, Physics, Economics, and Geography. Such candidates must have obtained the National Diploma (ND) from schools accredited by National Board for Technical Education and in a field relevant to Social and Environmental Forestry and with minimum of upper credit score (60-69); or have obtained the Higher National Diploma (HND) with minimum of upper credit (60-69) in a field relevant to Social and Environmental Forestry.

    -Candidates that have satisfied the above minimum O’ level conditions for admission to degree option in the department and in addition have obtained the National Certificate of Education (NCE) in a field relevant to Social and Environmental Forestry with a minimum of Credit Grade (60 – 69%) from a Nigerian College of Education recognized by the University, and with relevant subject combinations from among: Agricultural Science, Biology, Botany, zoology and chemistry.

    -Candidates that have obtained the minimum ‘O’level credit passes as set out above and in addition have obtained the Higher National diploma (HND) with a minimum of upper credit (60-69%) in relevant fields (as listed above) and from Schools or Colleges accredited by the NBTE.Candidates admitted with HND certificate will be exempted from a 12-month practical programme observed at 400 level.

    -A candidate is accepted on Transfer into the Department only at 200 level if he/she has satisfied the UTME entry requirement into the Department and has not been withdrawn from the University.
