UTME:

Candidates who are found to be successful in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and subsequently screened by Imo State University are usually admitted into five year duration of the programme.
In addition, the candidates would have obtained a minimum of five (5) credits in the SSCE/GCE/NECO O’Level at not more than two sittings in the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, English Language and any other two (2) subjects from Fine Art, Technical Drawing, Additional Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Biology and Chemistry.

Direct Entry:

(i) Holders of National Diploma (ND), with at least Credit level in Building Technology, Civil Engineering, Architecture and Quantity Surveying may be admitted into the 200 level provided such candidates fulfill the UME admission requirement above.
(ii) Holders of HND in Quantity Surveying or Building Technology, with minimum of lower credit may be admitted into 300 level provided such candidate fulfill the UME requirements.
(iii) Holders of HND in Quantity Surveying or Building Technology and had passed the test of Professional Competence (TPC), of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) and admitted as a member of NIQS (MNIQS) may be admitted into 400 level provided such Candidate fulfill the UME requirements.

Entry requirements:
(a) UTME Admission

Admission into this programme is through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB). To be eligible for admission, candidates must have at least five (5) credits in the WASSCE or NECO or GCE O’Level or its equivalent in English Language, Mathematics and Physics and any two of the following subjects: Chemistry, Economics, Building Construction, Technical Drawing, Geography, Government.

(ii) GCE ‘A’ level passes in at least two of the following subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geography and Economics

Applicants must in addition to UTME qualification in (a) above have lower credit at National Diploma (ND) or Merit at NCE level.

Candidates with IJMB must score a minimum of five points or four points (CPES, FUT, Minna) and pass at least two (2) subjects relevant to their proposed courses

(c) Direct entry into 300 level

Those interested in taking this program must in addition to UTME qualification in (a) above have lower credit at Higher National Diploma (HND) level in their proposed courses.
