  Admission criteria:
  Candidates for admission to the programme shall be:
  a. Those initially registered for the M.Sc. or M.Phi./Ph.D conversion programme of the department and have obtained a total weighted Cumulative Grade Point Average [CGPA] not lower than 4.0 in the course examinations and project at the Lagos State University.
  OR
  b. Candidates who possess the Master of Philosophy [M.Phil] degree in psychology of an approved University recognized by Senate. Candidates admitted to the programme will be required, on the recommendation of the Department, to take certain courses at the 800/900 levels up to a maximum of 12 units from the candidate’s area of specialization.
  2. Candidates are required to defend their research proposals before an examination panel as may be recommended by the department and give departmental seminars on their Ph.D research.
  
  Course duration: Minimum of six (6) semesters and maximum of ten (10) semesters.

  -Applicants shall possess the Bachelor and Master’s Degrees of Covenant University or any other University recognized by the Senate of Covenant University in the relevant disciplines. To qualify for direct entry into the Ph.D degree programme, a candidate shall have a minimum CGPA of 4.00 on a 5.00 scale or equivalent (60%) in the Master’s (M.A/M.Sc/M.Eng/M.Tech) degree result.
