    Course entry requirements
    (a) Level 100

    Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE):
    -Applicants must have Aggregate 24 or better. Candidates must have Grade D or better in six subjects; three of the six subjects must be Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies and the other three must be Elective subjects (Grades E and F in any subject is not accepted).

    -However, in competitive selections, preference would be given to candidates who offered and have credit passes in English Literature, Government or History, Economics, Geography, Christian Religious Studies and, or any additional European language especially French with grades adjudged to be at Credit levels.

    (b) West Africa Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSSCE):
    -Applicants must have aggregate 36 or better. Candidates must have Grade C6 or better in six subjects; three of the six subjects must be Core subjects: English Language, Mathematics and Integrated Science or Social Studies and the other three must be Elective subjects (Grades D7 and E8 are not accepted). However, in competitive selections, preference would be given to candidates who offered and have credit passes in English Literature, Government or History, Economics, Geography, Christian Religious Studies and, or any additional European language especially French with grades adjudged to be at Credit levels.

    -General Certificate Of Education (GCE) ‘O’ and ‘A’ Level: Candidates must have five (5) credits passes (Grade 6) including English Language, Mathematics and a Science subject (for non-science students and Arts subject (for Science students) at the GCE ‘O’ level and at least three (3) passes at the GCE Advanced level in relevant subjects. One of the ‘A’ level passes must be at a grade not lower than Grade D.

    (c) Mature Candidates:

    -Mature Candidates must be at least 25 years old at the time of application and must show proof of age with birth certificate or any legitimate documentary proof of birth which is at least five years old at the time of application. Candidates are expected to pass an entrance examination in General Paper and either English and or Mathematics and a Paper in the elective subjects area. Successful candidates at the entrance examination may be required to attend a selection interview. The Mature entrance examination shall be moderated by University of Cape Coast, the Mentor institution.

    (d) Level 200

    -Applicants with any of the following qualifications are admitted at level 200:

    -Three-Year Certificate “A”, Post-Secondary.
    -Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) with third class or pass

    (e) Level 300
    -Diploma in Basic Education (DBE) holder or Teachers Diploma holders from a recognized institution with at least 2nd Class Lower Division will be admitted at level 300. In addition, candidates may be required to attend a selection interview.



    (f) International Students

    Admission requirements and procedures for international students are the same as outlined above. In addition, every international student must:

    -complete a Financial Statement that clearly demonstrates ability to pay all expenses associated with his/her study at EPUC,including tuition, accommodation, books, food, health care, and other expenses.
    -pay tuition, hostel and all other fees in full and in advance, for each academic year, before course registration.
    -submit passports and other travel documents for verification.
    -submit a Police Clearance from home country.
    -reside in the University College-operated hostels.
    -register with the local Ghana Police Service in Ho.

    (g) Proficiency in English Language
    -All students whose native language or previous language of instruction is not English (such as students from Francophone countries) must demonstrate proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending and speaking English. All students applying for admission whose previous language of instruction is not English may present TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) results, or will be required to write an English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT)and pass it. Candidates will have to arrange with TOEFL/ELPT for their transcript to be transferred to the EPUC for processing.

    Admission criteria
    (i) Requirements for Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSSCE) holders
    -Six passes (A – C) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
    -At least three (3) of the passes must be relevant to the area of specialization.

    (ii) Requirements for West African Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) holders.
    -Six passes (A1-C6) in all subjects, including English Language and Mathematics.
    -Must possess a minimum of C6 in any three (3) of the passes relevant to the area of specialization.

    (iii) Admission requirements for Matured Applicants
    -At least, Twenty-Five (25) years old by 31st December, in the year the application is made.
    -A copy of applicant’s birth certificate issued not less than five (5) years from the day of completing the application form should be closed with the application materials. 2. Have any one of the following: Minimum Certificate of Senior High School or Teacher’s Cert ‘A’

    Note that: Applicants who do not have credit passes in English and Mathematics at either SSSCE/WASSCE OR GCE ‘O’ Level would be required to register and pass special examinations in those subjects.
