  Course entry requirements:
  (i) Graduates of recognized Universities who have obtained a good Masters Degree appropriate to the proposed areas of study;
  (ii) Graduates of recognized Universities who have obtained Masters of Philosophy degree with considered high CGPA to proceed for PHD in the appropriate field to the proposed areas of study;
  (iii) In addition to (i) – (ii) above, a candidate must possess at least a Bachelors degree in Second Class lower division;
  (iv) Candidates who hold qualifications other than the above, which are acceptable to the Board of Postgraduate School and Senate of the University;
  (v) Candidate must state the proposed area of research and submit a synopsis of not less than 500 words of the proposed topic of research.

  -All candidates must have five credit passes in English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology in Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or National Examination Council (NECO) or its equivalent at least in not more than two (2)sitting.
  -Candidates with Bachelor’s degree from an approved university must obtain a minimum of second-class lower division.
  -Candidates must have Master’s degree in relevant areas with a CGPA of 4.0/5.0 and thesis score not lower than 60% (B).
  -Candidates must demonstrate adequate intellectual capacity, maturity and effective decision-making and problem solving skills.

  (a) SSC or its equivalent with credit passes in at least 5 subjects including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other relevant subject at not more than two sittings.
  (b) Master’s Degree in Chemistry with a CGPA of not less than 4.00 on a 5-point scale or average of 60% (B).

  c) Those who have CGPA of 3.50 – 3.99 or 55% and above in Master’s degree programme can apply.
